Since 1 October 2008 Municipal Department 17 – Integration and Diversity (MA 17) has been providing all new migrants from third countries who have come to Vienna for family reunification with an Austrian citizen or a third-country national with a start coaching session.
For this purpose a central database was needed where all providers in Vienna can enter their courses and modules they offer.
This makes it easier for the public to search for courses and course providers they are interested in but also for MA17 to find the best course for migrants.
We were/are responsible for:
- Acquisition and installation of the server
- Development of the back end and search system
- Training of the stuff
- Maintenance of the server (backups, system monitoring)
- Support
Development was done in Ruby on Rails with MySQL and is runing on a Linux server.
